What is MIP?

The Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) suite is a commonly relied- upon security solution aimed principally at applying Rights Management rules to individual pieces of data. MIP encompasses Classification, Labelling, and Protection (CLP), and in particular provides a heavyweight application of Encryption techniques to frustrate hackers and would-be data thieves.
